Cash on Delivery to Prepaid Conversion

These messages encourage customers who choose Cash on Delivery (COD) to switch to a prepaid payment method. This helps reduce risks like cancellations and uncollected orders and streamlines the payment process.

How the COD to Prepaid Feature Works:

  • COD Confirmation Message: Users receive a COD confirmation message with their order details when they place an order with cash-on-delivery as their payment method. This message prompts them to ‘Confirm’ or ‘Cancel’ their order.
  • COD to Prepaid: After confirming their COD order, users are sent a message to prepay for their purchase. An additional benefit in the form of a discount is offered to incentivise prepayment.
  • Payment Process: If the user chooses to prepay, they can proceed by clicking on the 'Pay Now' option. They will be provided with a payment link, which is sent to the user for secure online payment.
  • Prepaid Confirmation: Following successful payment, users receive a prepaid confirmation message, confirming the completion of their prepaid order.

Availability 

It will be available for users having Shopify/Woocommerce integrated into their Engati portal.

How To Enable COD to Prepaid

  • Go to the Quick Navigator tab on the left menu -> Basic Setup -> Enable Automated Messages
  • Under COD to Prepaid Conversion, click on the ‘Enable’ button. If already enabled, it will show the ‘Edit Settings’ button where you can configure the notification settings.

You can also enable this feature by following these steps: 

  • Go to the ‘Store’ tab on the left menu -> ‘Feature Configurator
  • Enable the COD to Prepaid Notifications toggle.
  • If the feature is already enabled, select ‘Edit Settings’ to modify the notification settings as needed.

  • Here you can configure the following - 
    • Change the template message for Order Confirmation (COD), Convert COD to Prepaid and Prepaid Order Confirmation messages. 
    • Add the discount code to auto-apply upon checkout.

How To Add A Discount Code For COD to Prepaid Conversion Messages?

  • Checkbox to enable auto-apply discount code: A discount code field will be made available if selected. 
  • Add Discount Code: The discount code added in this field will be auto-applied when you checkout from the “Convert COD to Prepaid” message.

COD/Prepaid Message Templates

  • Order Confirmation (COD) Message: This message is sent to a customer after they place an order using Cash on Delivery (COD) as their payment method. The message includes all the order details and prompts users to either ‘Confirm’ or ‘Cancel’ their order.

  • Convert COD to Prepaid Message: This message is sent to customers who have selected COD as their payment option. After confirming their COD order, this message encourages them to switch their payment method to a prepaid option and provides them with a discount and payment link to pay online.

  • Prepaid Order Confirmation Message: Similar to the COD order confirmation, this message confirms the order placed using a prepaid payment method.

How To Change The Template Message For COD to Prepaid Notifications?

  • “View Template”: These buttons will redirect you to their respective paths in the path builder.
  • Click on the Template Message node which has the default message. 
  • If the template message is already created and approved by Meta then you can simply select the template you wish to add. If the template message is not created then you create a new template and add. Click here to learn how to create a new message template.
  • If any variables are present in the template message then add the relevant attribute or a fixed value in the field. Please note -  Attributes should be added in curly brackets. 
  • If Media is present (Image/Video/Document) in the template then add the media link in the image field. 
  • Save the node.
